I knew I needed to do something extra special to commemorate launch day and so I headed to The Swan on the Chiswick/Acton boundary. You see, The Swan is the setting for several key scenes in Odd Bird.
I arrived, unannounced, and introduced myself to Catherine, the landlady. I explained that I had written a novel featuring her pub. Fortunately, Catherine is very friendly, and is not taken to throwing nutters out onto the street.
To demonstrate my sanity, I gave Catherine a copy of Odd Bird for herself and another one to be distributed to a deserving customer of her choosing.
After we posed for the photo we laughed about the foolishness of smiling for the camera while wearing face masks, but I think you can see it in our eyes.
Another special moment.
